Thank you Monique. I need to re-calibrate mine and was here to find out how much cardinals weigh, and then measure the weight on my kitchen scale. Now I don't even have to do that (assuming you are right about the seven loonies).

It is a great feeder and works perfectly. Never a problem until it was incorrectly adjusted a while back.

I have to keep the door open permanently because the cardinals have not come to the feeder. With the door open, the cardinal came and was so scared that I thought the feeder would fall.

Nature Expert: Cette mangeoire peut être calibrée en mettant 7 pièces de 1 dollar (50g) dans un sac de plastique et en le suspendant au perchoir. Le poids du toit de la mangeoire (sans la vis) pèse aussi 50g.

This feeder can be calibrated by hanging 7 loonies (50g) in a small plastic bag on the perch. The cardinal feeder roof (without the screw) also weighs 50g.
