The most important performance difference is the correction angle. Most current stabilized binoculars offer a correction angle of 0.5° to 1°. This corresponds to a correction of 0.8 to 1.7 meters at a distance of 100 meters. Hand shake, viewing in windy weather, or being out of breath after a hike will easily lead to image instability greater than these values. KITE APC stabilized binoculars feature new technology that allows the instrument to correct image stability by 2°, which is more than conventional stabilization technology. This allows for perfectly stable images not only from your shaky hand, but even from a moving car or boat.

This very compact and lightweight instrument also features intelligent functionalities. The electronics are powered by two AA batteries and will operate the system for 120 hours, including powering the backup AA batteries that are internal to the device. But to ensure no second is lost, the Kite Optics APC binoculars are equipped with sensors that will automatically put the electronics into sleep mode when you are not looking. When the instrument is in an upright position, hanging from your neck or placed on a surface, it goes to sleep. The second it comes to a more horizontal position, for viewing, the stabilization system automatically kicks in. No fumbling with buttons, no accidental battery drain. A timer function ensures it turns off completely after 90 minutes. And a low battery indicator will tell you well in advance when new batteries are needed.
