The roofs are painted a vibrant red! The 1 1/4'' (3.0 cm) opening allows chickadees, nuthatches, downy woodpeckers, or wrens to settle in and build their nests.
It is recommended to use wood shavings at the bottom of birdhouses for chickadees, nuthatches, and downy woodpeckers. It is recommended to put an inch of wood shavings at the bottom of each birdhouse. One bag of shavings will be enough for one birdhouse.
