Golden safflower has a 40% thinner shell than traditional safflower, making it easier to eat and thus attracting a wider variety of birds than white safflower. It contains 15% more oil, 25% more protein, and provides 30% more energy. Preliminary studies indicate a 2-to-1 preference over white safflower.
