TRULY SQUIRREL-PROOF: All feeder components exposed to squirrels are made of chew-proof materials.
The openings in the shroud are aligned with the feeding ports, allowing birds to feed. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically lowers the shroud, closing off the feeding ports. The feeder thus defeats squirrels and some large birds, without ever harming them.
N.B.: If a squirrel can reach the feeder from a nearby perch and avoid putting its weight on the feeder, it may gain access to the seeds. To solve this problem, provide a clear space of at least 18 inches (47 cm) around the feeder. This will force the squirrel to climb onto the feeder and trigger the closing mechanism.
EASY TO MAINTAIN: Squirrel Buster feeders are designed to be disassembled by hand, without tools, into individual components. This facilitates both cleaning and maintenance. Detachable parts are dishwasher safe.
FOOD VENTILATION: The transparent silos of the feeders trap the sun's energy. While conventional feeders block the evacuation of hot air, our patented feeding tube ventilation system evacuates moisture and hot air through openings at the top of the feeder and replaces it with fresh air. This keeps the food fresh, which attracts more birds.
UV RESISTANT: All components are UV resistant.
FOR PERCHING AND CLINGING BIRDS: The feeding ports have perches for perching birds, while the mesh of the shroud provides a suitable surface for clinging birds. This encourages greater bird traffic to the feeder.

J'ai quelque fois surpris un écureuil agrippé au treillis et manger plus ou moins aisément. Le "mécanisme" permettant de bloquer les trous gèle parfois en hiver à cause du froid et/ou d'un épisode de pluie verglaçante. Dommage car les oiseaux l'apprécient.

Excellente mangeoire. J'en possède une depuis environ 4 ans, et elle est toujours en service et en parfait état de marche. Elle convient à plusieurs sortes d'oiseaux, des plus petits, comme les chardnnerets, à des plus gros, comme les geais bleus. Les oiseaux en raffolent, les écureuils beaucoup moins. Je n'ai connu, au cours de toutes ces années, qu'une seule expérience où un écureuil très futé est arrivé à déjouer le dispositif anti-écureuil. Si on considère que depuis des centaines ont fréquenté mon jardin sans pouvoir s'en approprier le contenu, on peut conclure que le produit est réeellement anti-écureuil. J'en suis toujours très satisfait.
