TRULY SQUIRREL-PROOF: All feeder components exposed to squirrels are made of chew-proof materials.
The openings in the shroud are aligned with the feeding ports, allowing birds to feed. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically lowers the shroud, closing off the feeding ports. This prevents squirrels and some large birds from accessing the food without harming them.
N.B.: If a squirrel can reach the feeder from a nearby support point and avoid placing its weight on the feeder, it may be able to access the seeds. To solve this problem, provide a clear space of at least 18 inches (47 cm) around the feeder. This will force the squirrel to climb onto the feeder and trigger the closing mechanism.

EASY TO CLEAN: Squirrel Buster feeders are designed to be disassembled by hand, without tools, into individual components. This facilitates both cleaning and maintenance. Detachable parts can be washed in the dishwasher.

FOOD VENTILATION: The clear silos of the feeders trap the sun's energy. While conventional feeders block the escape of hot air, our patented feeding tube ventilation system expels moisture and hot air through openings at the top of the feeder and replaces it with fresh air. This keeps the food fresh, which attracts more birds.

WEIGHT ADJUSTABLE: Our patented adjustable spring mechanism controls the weight the shroud supports to allow birds to feed. Any excess weight activates the closing mechanism.

ADJUSTABLE PERCHES: The perches are strong and have a textured surface that provides birds with a good grip. Attract small birds like chickadees and finches (while deterring larger birds like grackles and starlings) by adjusting the length of the perches.

CARDINAL RING: The Squirrel Buster Plus feeder can be used with or without the Cardinal Ring. This Cardinal Ring is designed to specifically attract cardinals. Cardinals prefer to grip a textured perch. Also, because they have short necks, it is difficult for them to turn their heads to feed. They therefore prefer to face their food source. The Cardinal Ring allows them to feed face-on from a sturdy and comfortable perch. Using the Cardinal Ring in a shaded area makes the Squirrel Buster Plus feeder particularly attractive to cardinals.
